The Three Bananas

The Three Bananas was where it all began; it was the first figurative collage I created. Prior to this, I was experimenting in an abstract manner to determine whether collage was something I actually enjoyed. In a flash of inspiration, an old banana drawing popped into my head. I found the drawing, created a composition that I liked and got to work. By the time I had finished one of the bananas, I knew figurative collage was for me. I felt joy, excitement, and the freedom to fully express myself.
